The DexRobot 021PRO is a research-grade dexterous hand distinguished by its wrist-hand integrated architecture, which expands reachable orientations and supports coordinated manipulation beyond what conventional wrist-mounted hands can achieve. The platform features 22 joint degrees of freedom — with 18 active — driven by a dual-tendon omnidirectional system that enables opposable movement and full 3D spatial coverage, closely mirroring the routing and compliance found in human tendons. Embedded local edge computing allows the 021PRO to run fast closed-loop control onboard, supporting tactile feedback and perception-driven grasping without relying solely on an external compute host.

The 021PRO integrates a dense sensing package: more than 400 tactile sensing units, 20 high-precision joint position sensors, a 5 MP RGB palm camera, and over 500 total physical sensing points. These feed hybrid position and force control algorithms that enable sub-millimeter operational precision and up to 50 N payload for complex 3D manipulation tasks. With Python and C++ SDKs, URDF models, kinematic libraries, and simulation examples provided by DexRobot, the 021PRO is designed for embodied AI skill learning, humanoid robot integration, and manipulation research requiring contact-rich, perception-aware control.
