- Built for external extraction The 850S has no onboard dust collection unit and is meant for sites that already run their own extraction system.
- Lighter and shorter At 627 kg and 1,520 × 866 × 1,204 mm, it is the more compact and manoeuvrable of BMR's two 850-series grinders.
- LiDAR site scanning Before grinding, it scans walls, columns and other structures and plans its own path across the floor plate.
- 18.5 kW planetary head A planetary disc turning at 0–2,000 rpm grinds an 850 ± 50 mm strip on every pass.
- 5 cm positioning accuracy Real-time positioning keeps it on its planned path while it travels at 0.5 m/s and climbs slopes of up to 15°.
- No manual pushing Automatic grinding replaces a hand-guided machine, which spares the crew the vibration and keeps the grind consistent from pass to pass.
Description
The BMR Floor Grinding Robot 850S is the compact model in BrightMaster Robotics' 850 series of autonomous concrete grinders, made for sites that already run their own dust extraction. It carries no onboard dust collection unit: the extraction comes from the site's external system, and that is what keeps the 850S lighter and shorter than its sibling, the 850M. It takes the laitance off concrete slabs and readies them for epoxy coatings, sealed hardeners, emery sealed hardeners, epoxy terrazzo, inorganic terrazzo and terrazzo.
Dust handling is the one deciding difference between the two models. The 850S is meant for projects where a compatible extraction setup is already in place and a compact footprint is preferred; the 850M, with its integrated 2.4 kW dust collection, is the one to choose when the machine has to collect its own dust. At 627 kg and 1,520 × 866 × 1,204 mm, the 850S is the lighter, shorter and more manoeuvrable of the pair.
Before work starts, the robot scans the floor plate with LiDAR to locate walls, columns and other structures, then plans its own route, holds its position in real time to within 5 cm and grinds without an operator steering it. Each pass covers 850 ± 50 mm with a planetary disc running at 0–2,000 rpm under 18.5 kW of grinding power. Because nobody has to push a hand-guided grinder, the crew is spared the vibration, and one pass is ground the same way as the next.
The 850S runs on a 380 VAC three-phase five-wire supply at 50 or 60 Hz and carries a 48 V / 30 Ah traction battery with a 9 km operating range; it travels at 0.5 m/s and climbs slopes of up to 15°. It is used in underground car parks, on factory and workshop floors, on warehouse slabs before coatings or hardeners, in epoxy renovations and on laboratory, sports and commercial floors — work for flooring contractors and construction teams who prepare floors by the thousand square metres. The extraction connection, grinding tooling and consumables are agreed with the quotation.
Key Capabilities
- External extraction model: No onboard dust collection unit — it works with the extraction system already on site.
- Compact 850 platform: 627 kg and 1,520 × 866 × 1,204 mm, the lighter and shorter of the two 850-series machines.
- LiDAR navigation: It locates walls and columns, plans its own path and positions itself to within 5 cm.
- 18.5 kW planetary grinding: A planetary disc at 0–2,000 rpm covers 850 ± 50 mm per pass.
- Floor preparation for coatings: It removes laitance ahead of epoxy, hardener and terrazzo floor systems.
This model is offered on a quotation basis. Configuration, accessories, integration scope and delivery schedule all change the final figure, so pricing is confirmed per project rather than listed.

Frequently Asked Questions
It is the compact autonomous concrete floor grinding robot in BrightMaster Robotics' 850 series. It removes laitance and prepares large concrete floors for epoxy, sealed hardener, emery hardener and terrazzo systems, on sites that provide their own dust extraction.
No. The 850S has no onboard dust collection unit; it is the model for projects that already run a compatible external extraction system. If the machine has to collect its own dust, the 850M carries an integrated 2.4 kW unit. The extraction requirements are confirmed with the quotation.
The 850S leaves out the onboard dust collection, which makes it lighter and shorter: 627 kg and 1,520 × 866 × 1,204 mm, against 754 kg and 2,030 × 915 × 1,275 mm for the 850M with its integrated 2.4 kW unit. They share the 850 ± 50 mm working width, 18.5 kW grinding power, LiDAR navigation, 5 cm positioning accuracy and the 48 V / 30 Ah battery with a 9 km range.
It scans the floor plate with LiDAR to locate walls, columns and other structures, plans its grinding path from that scan and tracks its position in real time to within 5 cm, so it grinds without an operator steering it.
A 380 VAC three-phase five-wire supply at 50 or 60 Hz and an external dust extraction system. The robot also carries a 48 V / 30 Ah traction battery with a 9 km operating range, travels at 0.5 m/s and climbs slopes of up to 15°.
It is offered by quotation — configuration, quantity and delivery are confirmed per project.
